Perennial Hammers Out
a Great Design for
The Home Depot

Now we might not be home improvement experts, but when we do it ourselves in retail, we always get it right. Take The Home Depot's tool department, for instance. It had become a highly cluttered and difficult space to shop, and didn't reflect the respected nature of one of Canada's favourite brands. We also learned that the existing design didn't appeal to women and gave more real estate to vendors that it did The Home Depot itself. Our job was to build something that drilled home the right message.

We had to create something that catered to every kind of customer - from Professionals to DIYers. So we stripped down the communications for a clean, bold, and clear solution that drew attention to the product selection. Then we created brand towers to greet customers with vendor highlights and promotional offers. We also focused on communications and fixtures that helped The Home Depot own the store above the traditional 9' mark. Measured against our yardstick of success, we got it just right - an environment that visually expressed tool expertise and gave customers an improved, interactive experience.
